Kim Henry

Kim Henry (BA honors degree in Drama, Manchester University, UK) has been running community and children’s drama projects around the world for over twenty years. Born in the UK, Kim’s work has taken her to Bosnian refugee camps, Indian schools, International Theater Festivals and now to the sandy shores of Wilmington and to the artistic family of Dreams.

Kim runs her own theatre company for children ‘Luv2act,’ and is one of the founding members and directors of Theatre For All – Wilmington’s first theatre company for people with disabilities. She fuses her love of theatre, puppetry, spoken word, dance and music in order to nurture the creative process, self expression and produce exciting, innovative shows.

LUV2ACT  was born in 2003 in the mountains of Southern Spain where Kim lived with her husband and 2 children. Throughout the last 15 years, LUV2ACT has produced multiple shows every year with literally hundreds of children from all walks of life.

LUV2ACT has also produced short films, music videos, and creative writing publications.

LUV2ACT likes to use recycled and reclaimed materials for their costumes and sets, as a reflection of their eco-friendly ideals!

Kim moved to Wilmington, NC in 2011 with her husband and 2 children and has been producing shows ever since. She is a board member of TheatreNow, has pioneered Wilmington’s first Theatre Company for Folks with Disabilities and won awards for her contribution to Wilmington’s theatre community.

“Our performers are from a wide range of backgrounds; geographically, economically and culturally. Drama encourages them to find the common ground between themselves in a creative and positive way. LUV2ACT  gives our performers an understanding of theatre skills and drama techniques whilst simultaneously inspiring many invaluable lessons. That’s the magic of theatre!” Kim Henry.
