LUV2ACT — Drama Classes for Children

Here at LUV2ACT we cel­e­brate the spe­cial gift within each and every child! We encour­age self expres­sion, self esteem and team work within a sup­port­ive and fun envi­ron­ment. We aim to ensure that every child feels acknowl­edged and that their indi­vid­u­al­ity is hon­ored and nur­tured. We are com­mit­ted to inspir­ing work­shops and high qual­ity pro­duc­tions that embrace the diverse tal­ents and abil­i­ties of a wide range of chil­dren.

WORKSHOPS

Ages 3–6 and 7–12

Within our work­shops we explore move­ment, pup­petry, cre­ative writ­ing, dance, voice, devis­ing, impro­vi­sa­tion and have some seri­ous fun. We work towards the shar­ing of our devised shows with fam­ily, friends and the greater com­mu­nity. Through our process, the young per­form­ers gain an under­stand­ing of the­atre and essen­tial per­for­mance tech­niques whilst explor­ing their own cre­ativ­ity.

In addi­tion to drama skills, our work­shops are also about:

• Nur­tur­ing self-esteem and con­fi­dence building
• Com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
• Co-devising
• Devel­op­ing lit­er­acy skills and where appro­pri­ate, we sup­port the national curriculum
• Pro­vid­ing a plat­form for indi­vid­ual thought and self expression.

SHOWS THAT SHOW!

We cre­ate high qual­ity plays and shows which reflect the inter­ests and aspi­ra­tions of our per­form­ers through an empow­er­ing and inno­v­a­tive process. We feel that the real joy and ben­e­fits of the­atre and drama for chil­dren and young peo­ple can be over shad­owed by an atmos­phere of com­pe­ti­tion which is why we focus on cre­at­ing an inclu­sive com­pany where every­one feels respected for exactly who they are.

Drama is such a pow­er­ful tool for com­mu­ni­ca­tion which is why we devise shows that reflect the inter­ests and pas­sions of our per­form­ers. This is their drama com­pany and they get to express the themes which mat­ter to them.

LITTLE ONES AT LUV2ACT!

Our classes for the lit­tle ones are all about play! We use games which engage their imag­i­na­tion and encour­age them to use their body. Par­ents can stay until their child feels com­fort­able within the class and then they are free to go, know­ing that their lit­tle ones are hav­ing lots of cre­ative fun!
